I love how the Bible speaks to you, no matter where you are in your life, what you’re feeling, or your life experience. One of my favorite verses as a single woman has always been Proverbs 20:6 (NIV) “Many a man claims to have unfailing love, but a faithful man, who can find?”

There was a time when I considered making that my life verse. I thought it was very funny – for the Bible – and also weirdly appropriate for the 21st Century.

Then, one day while reading in the Psalms, God provided His response. “Oh LORD God Almighty! Where is there anyone as mighty as you, LORD? Faithfulness is your very character.” Psalm 89:8 (NLT)

The NIV says, “Your faithfulness surrounds You.” But I like the NLT. God’s very character is Faithfulness. It’s just who He is. And whether we continue to wait for a faithful man, or have given up on him completely, it’s good to know there is One who will never leave us, never forsake us. Ever.
