a new view

Welcome to the new View From Her, an upgrade that has been long overdue, considering I’ve now been blogging for a little more than three years. And… let’s be honest. When one is of a certain age, three years can take quite a toll. So it was definitely time for a little face lift.

I started this blog when I was at a creative dead end, and it has provided me with a huge amount of creative fulfillment. Now I’m in a place that’s a great outlet for creativity and passion, and I suspect that re-channeling may have caused my blog content to suffer a bit over the past year.

So I may shift direction just a bit. I’d been considering for some time how to better blend my snarky, opinionated single blogging with my full-time job. Which is a snarky, opinionated, church Communications Director. So there will definitely be more posts having to do with the day-to-day creative workings of a large, multi-site church. My church is doing some incredible things, and I’m really excited to be able to talk about some of the background thinking and processes, and the frequently amazing results.

I’ll still comment on women’s issues, particularly in the Church, and will probably occasionally mention some incredibly insightful scientific study on men or women (you know how I love those). I love writing this blog, and always appreciate your comments. Thanks for sticking around!

  1. I like the updated website.

I don’t mean this in an unkind way, but are you proud of being snarky? You seem to like describing yourself as such. Do you think that God wants women (and men) to be snarky? I wonder if I should cultivate snarkiness to attract more people to Christ. (I kid, I kid.)

    1. oh gosh, no. I so don’t mean to come across that way. I do joke that sarcasm is one of my “spiritual gifts” because it’s something I really do wrestle with. It’s more that I recognize that’s how I am, and am constantly working to be less so. I appreciate your asking the question!
